Planning meals with easy to find ingredients and common pantry and freezer staples is a great way to save BIG! Eating at home truly is one of the best and simplest ways to save on a daily basis, especially when you start comparing the cost of your homemade meal to what you'd pay for a similar meal out.

Challenge yourself this week to try to make meals using ingredients you already have on hand.

Sweet and sour meatballs

A bag of frozen meatballs gets slow-cooked with canned cranberry and chili sauce, for a delicious and easy pantry meal! Warm up some frozen broccoli and white rice to serve up a sweet and sour meatball bowl that'll please every family member. Kids LOVE this meal!

Hip Tip: If homemade meatballs are preferred, make a batch of those and freeze them in a freezer-safe bag for this simple freezer meal idea!

2.) Easy Chicken Zucchini Casserole

Zucchini Casserole

This could easily be one of our favorite casseroles and it has just 7 simple ingredients, including a boxed stuffing mix from the pantry for convenience. The leftovers are just as delicious and it's such a comforting warm meal all will LOVE!

Hip Tip: You could always make this a freezer meal by first compiling the casserole, storing it with an air-tight lid in the freezer, and then popping it in the oven when ready to cook it.

3.) Ground Beef & Potatoes Slow Cooker Cowboy Supper

All the flavors of stuffed peppers in an easy-to-make soup with pantry staples like diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and white rice. We love this soup as it's very comforting and hearty with ground beef.

Hip Tip: Instead of fresh peppers and onion, you could always substitute a bag of fajita-style veggies from the freezer section if desired as a convenient and budget-friendly option.
